Privacy & advertising disclosure
Plain English: what we measure, how this site earns money, and what we are not.
The short version
- We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It sets cookies.
- Some outbound links to money-transfer providers are advertising, and we may earn a commission. They are labelled "Advertisement".
- We do not ask you for personal information. There is no account, no newsletter and no contact form on this site.
- We do not sell or share data with anyone beyond the analytics provider described below.
Analytics and cookies
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic — how many people visit, which pages they read, roughly where in the world they are, and what device they use. That involves cookies and the processing of your IP address by Google. We use it to decide what to write next. We do not use it to identify individuals, and we do not attempt to.
You can block this entirely with any browser-level cookie or tracker blocker, or by using private browsing. Nothing here requires cookies to work — the converter runs without them.
Advertising, and how this site makes money
The currency converter is free and always will be. Some links to money-transfer providers are
affiliate links: if you open an account or make a transfer after clicking one, we may be paid a fee by
that provider. Those links are marked "Advertisement" and carry
rel="sponsored".
Two commitments about that. First, it never costs you anything — you are not quoted a worse rate for arriving through this site. Second, the factual content here is written independently of who pays us, and we do not publish rankings claiming one provider is "best" for you, because the right provider depends on your amount, corridor and timing. We explain how to compare, and let you compare.
What we are not
We are not a bank, a money-transfer operator, a tax practitioner, a broker or an authorised financial services provider. We do not handle your money, hold accounts, or give financial, tax or investment advice. We publish general factual information.
Your POPIA rights
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act you may ask what personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its processing. In practice we hold none beyond the aggregate analytics described above. If you want to raise anything about this notice, the analytics data or the advertising on this site, get in touch and we will deal with it.
Changes
If we add or change anything affecting your privacy — a new analytics tool, a new advertising partner, or any form that collects information — this page is updated first.
